It was a big and a very sad announcement from Here that they would be ending their Here Maps support to Windows Phone on 29 June 2016, which would actually mean that Windows Phone users would have almost no app to provide a free turn by turn navigation.
The only option with Windows Mobile lovers would be the Microsoft Maps which is still at an immature stage and keeps shooting errors or non-sync up issues to the users. But here comes the good news, basis the sources (Reddit), Microsoft is gearing up an exciting update to the Maps app.
Sharing on Reddit, a verified Microsoft employee Dave_MSFT said an “exciting update” is heading the towards the Windows Maps app and would make it's way via the Insider Builds of Windows 10. This update would be basis the top rates feedback from the Windows Feedback App, this includes:
- Improved Driving Mode
- Maps misses a lot of roads
- Poor Search result
Dave has also highlighted that they are working on items such as auditory alerts that you are nearing your destination and exploring options around the arrow on the location marker (compass).
