Videocon launching Windows 10 TV in India

In the ongoing partnership with Microsoft, Videocon, on Wednesday launched what it is calling the world's first Windows 10-powered LED TV which is available in two sizes. The 32-inch model for Rs. 39,990 while the 40-inch variant is available for Rs. 52,990. The company says that it might launch the TV in other sizes (55, 65 and 24-inches) based on the feedback from its customers.

The TV, which can also work as a personal computer, will be available in the market next month. Called 'One Touch PC, One Touch TV', the Windows 10 televisions come equipped with Microsoft Office, the Windows Store, All Cast app.

Videocon Head of Technology and Innovation, Akshay said

In these changing times, we realised the needs of our consumers of having easy access to technology at their convenience and therefore designed the world's first hybrid TV cum PC

Speaking at the launch event in New Delhi, Dhoot said

Right now, we have launched only 32 and 40-inch models, which are popular in the consumer segment. Depending on the feedback from the market, we would launch 55, 65 and 24-inches also.

Speaking on the occasion, Microsoft Director (Windows Business Group) Vineet Durani said

With this innovative product, we intend to extend the Windows 10 experience to more users... At Microsoft, it is our constant endeavor to help our partners enter newer categories and create innovative products in order to offer our customers the best user experience at affordable price points.

Talking of the specs, the TV comes with a full-HD display, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, inbuilt Wi-Fi, MHL and HDMI ports, and 16GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card.
