How to add Pepsi IPL T20 fixture to your Windows Phone Calendar

The Indian Premier League (IPL) (currently known as the Pepsi Indian Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament, founded in 2008 by the BCCI. It consists of a number of teams (currently 8) which are named after Indian cities and owned by franchises, and is held in India between April and June.

The IPL is the most-watched Twenty20 league in the world and is also known for its commercial success. In 2010, the IPL became the first sporting event to be broadcast live on YouTube.


So, calling out all the IPL fans who own a Windows Phone device, how about let your phone remind you about your favourite team, whenever they have a match, during this season of Pepsi IPL.

Here is how to add the schedule on your Windows Phone

    1. Download this txt file (don't worry, it is safe)
    2. Go to calendar.live.com and sign in with your Microsoft account, if asked.
    3. Once signed in, click/tap on import at the top of the window.

   4. You will be taken to a new screen as shown below.
   

   5. Click on "import into a new calendar" and browse to the file you downloaded earlier.
   6. Write down the calendar name, and a pick a color of your choice.
   7.  Select a charm(icon) from the drop down menu (i chose "trophy" as mine)
   8.  In reminders, choose the first option and finally click on Import.
   9. Now, on your phone go to settings>>email+accounts>>long tap on Microsoft account and tap sync. This will force calendar sync immediately.

How to enable lockscreen reminders
    1. Go to Settings>>lock screen>>tap on "choose an app to show detailed status".
    2. Choose calendar from the list and you are done!
